Goal Setting

Hello all!

We are exactly 12 days away from 2007 and I am looking forward to it! Personally I love this time of year as I often find myself reflecting on the past and what goals I have accomplished. Thinking about this year, it has been great for The Scott Family as we have moved and added a member to our family... well kind of... Cooper, a large Chocolate Lab! Our new house is terrific as we have already done a large amount of updating to make it our home.

If you are like me and like this time of year I have a great site to recommend for help with goal setting; http://www.allthingsfrugal.com/resolutions.htm

My business has been a great example to me of the main principles Nikki talks about here... "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail" and attaching an action plan with your goals. I often have a good idea that is forgotten unless I write it down. Add to it by setting a completion date or a reminder. (This blog is one of mine from 2006 and it now says completed!)

One more thought, set short term and long term goals. My business coach, Mindy, just talked with me about this and asked me for a written 30 day action plan as we are now planning for 2007. These 30 day actions plans will be vital to track my business growth. Plus it's a lot easier to re-adjust a 30 day plan compared to a year.

? How do you eat and elephant? One bite at a time!

There are many great ideas out there for how to get started but the only one that matters is the one you use. As for me, I am a tech person and I love my Blackberry but I find a paper check list works well... as I use them almost daily (another coaching tip from Mindy) :-)

Wishing you all a GREAT 2007!

Getting Started

As I am starting to create this blog I am reminded that what I am feeling is similar to a first time home buyer! There are so many choices to make while trying to keep this functional. Do I consult a professional or can I do it myself? What are the costs to have help? Keep in mind that my choices can be changed very easily and at little to no cost, unlike purchasing a home. Human nature tells me I want to have the best but the business man in me says I have to balance the cost. I will ask for you for help as I create, change and tweek this thing called a blog. I know it will not be right for several months but with your help I think I can create a valuable tool for my clients! I will say thank you for your help and patience in advance.

As for Akron Real Estate Matters, the market is slow but it is not as gloomy as the media says it is! There is a great amount of inventory but the interest rates have remained very low. Therefore, it is a great time to buy your first home or move up into that dream home. Tired of paying rent, having nothing to show for your hard work or missing that potential tax deduction? The all American dream is more affordable than your think with the great loan packages that are available. Contact me for more information and thanks for Akron Real Estate Matters (AREM).
